I'M A WINNER!
I uploaded my screenplay for MORTE A DELI to ScriptFrenzy last night, and now have a little winner sticker to show for it. Wahoo! The final length was 140 pages, but that is before I reformat it and cut unnecessary scenes. That process got waylaid because of my work on LIVING ON TATTOOINE.
Speaking of LOT, I have been hard at work on that screenplay for the last three days. I had sort of hoped (in that impossible way I have) that I could make 20 pages a day, but sadly, I wasn't even close to that during the first couple of days. Yesterday, miracle of miracles, I actually made it the 20 pages, but I'm still way behind from the first two days. The screenplay stands at 53 pages right now. By tonight, the goal length would be 80, so I have no chance of doing it. But hey, if I even got 25 pages done today, I'd be closer than a stick in the eye.
I am flying by the seat of my pants with this one, anyway. I can't count how many times I read a chapter of the original book and think, how the h*** am I going to turn this into a scene for the movie? Then I say a little prayer, and start to type. It's worked so far, but I have to say a little thank you prayer after each time, so as not to anger whoever is feeding me this stuff.
My big news happened yesterday: MURDER MOST MOTHERLY is at the printers! Wahoo! If all goes well, I will have the hot little book in my hands by around the 20th. I'm very excited. Perhaps, if I have some time, I'll post the picture of the cover to my blog in the next day or so.
Meanwhile, I'm gearing up for my marketing thrust next month.
Later, gator--
