I wasn't a fan of this book either. I didn't find it as engaging, thought-provoking, or even humourous as Pratchett's others. Have you read anything else by him?

Christine Cook

I have read several of Terry Pratchett's books over the past few years, although as you probably know, he has so many I feel as though I've barely scratched the surface. Several of the Pratchett's I've read are posted in my blog archives, but a sampling includes JOHNNY AND THE DEAD (a non-DiscWorld...), WEE FREE MEN, EQUAL RITES, THE COLOUR OF MAGIC, almost the entire Death series, etc. Next on my docket is GOING POSTAL.

I will say after about 60 pages of MONSTROUS REGIMENT I found myself enjoying it more. The spoiler alert got better and better, but I don't want to spoil the story for everyone else.
